I started out with the same problem here. No wifi on after virtual box install on a Mac. Then when i tried to sudo the dhclient eth0 command in terminal my login password didn't work to su the command.  I logged out and logged back in just to check my password, then tried it just a my terminal with my regular user not root/sudo and got setuid error  so i tried the  su - -i -u <username>  command which needed the password again, so it  has me going round in a circles.  any suggestions?

As for the virtualbox you might have ignored some options during the installation of Virtualbox regarding the networking.

Also seems same issue persists in case of Matriux password, remember that user and su password initially are "toor" however during installation you are prompted for user and root passwords separately meaning you have provided a different password for root apart from the login password.

So, make sure you follow these steps and make a install again

What if it were a network card problem? Its what it seems to me.
I've got the same problem, can't connect to internet...
when trying the iwconfig command, the output is:
Quote
lo no wireless extensions,
eth0 nowireless extensions,
wlan0 (...) ESSID off/any etc

as if were not wireless at all. I use iwl3945.

Is there any workaround out there on this, pls?  Huh?  I'd appreciate any clue.

Grin OK, I got it! Don't bother yourself replying me...
I needed to test matriux on an usb driver so, following a post I read somewhere here, I used lili usb-creator. First I tryed by rebooting but unsuccessfully. I came this forum for help and (so that to be able to copy and paste those pertinent system outputs here) I did it by that virtualizing utility it's now possible when using lili-usb creator, so those references to virtual box which appear on my post don't belong to matriux itself.
Case is that my laptop Network Card is that f****** iwl3945, that's the problem. I'd have to, following guidelines from here: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers make to a workaround but that isn't possible if you are on a live usb drive as it's an iso image which is really running, so you can't overwrite anything on there, I forgot that...
I haven't room to do it on my HD  Cry so I'll carry on working with fedora, the great!  Tongue
